DAOpunks is a Nounish DAO built for the CryptoPunks community. CryptoPunk holders will now co-govern an ever growing treasury of ETH, which can be used to invest in the CryptoPunks community.

CryptoPunks are the largest NFT collection by market cap. But compared to other collections they are completely cash poor. There is no DAO or treasury to give community grants or fund innovative experiments.

So we decided to take inspiration from the most successfully self-funded NFT community to date: Nouns DAO ⌐◨-◨

At its peak Nouns had $60 million in its treasury, which it has used to grow their brand & build public goods infrastructure, with projects like:

• @nounishpunk video game

• @titanmags comic book

• @nounsmovie movie

• action sports sponsorships

• zk anonymous voting

• solo stakers grants

For those not already familiar, Nouns grew the largest NFT treasury to date using 3 basic rules:

1. One new NFT is minted + auctioned each day
2. All auction proceeds go to a treasury
3. This treasury is governed by all NFT holders (1 NFT = 1 vote)

We forked Nouns DAO and added 3 new rules to help CryptoPunk holders achieve a similar opportunity for growth:

1. All traits are now rare
2. No duplicate NFTs can ever be created
3. The treasury is co-governed by both @cryptopunksnfts holders & @daopunks holders alike
